COASIN Group Customers Attend Chilean IT Association (ACTI) Bicentennial Dinner
COASIN and their customers had the opportunity to hear the Government’s plans for technological matters and accompany the Group’s C.E.O. in his first official act as the Chilean IT Association (ACTI) president.
In the presence of the country’s President, the First Lady, Ministers and secretaries of State, mayors and over 600 ICT Industry executives, the Chilean Association of Information Technologies (ACTI) celebrated their annual dinner in celebration of the country’s Bicentennial and at which, Raúl Ciudad, current COASIN Group C.E.O., was named the new President of the Association.
On the occasion, Raúl Ciudad emphatically pointed out that “we have never been closer to achieving development. Yes, Chile can do it, if we believe in ourselves and cross the cultural barriers in our path.”
To advance towards this commitment, the new ACTI President presented the new central theme of his period: ICT industry development through global services and stimulus for R&D + I, increase in all SME factors and a tight innovation and entrepreneurial agenda.
Likewise, he explained that to reach these goals, permanent institutionalism that includes a high level authority with the executive capability to manage the knowledge economy and an adequate budget are required; proposing that the Ministry of the Economy become the Ministry of Industry, Innovation and Technology.
Chilean President, Sebastián Piñera ratified his commitment to place a digital seal on the country through concrete actions such as numeric mobility, more broadband access in schools, duplicate the innovation budget, support the remote work bill, promote the inter- operability of the State, and more.
